Dementia Support MinistryHayshire is partnering with Good News Consulting and Dementia Friends – York and Adams Co to become a place where individuals and families of individuals diagnosed with Dementia and Alzheimer’s can come and participate in information sessions, skills training, and receive information on various additional resources at their disposal. We strive to be a place where individuals and families can find a faith connection to help them through this new period in their lives.
We will be hosting events in the near future that will be open to the public and are working to incorporate “dementia friendly” worship. We also hope to bring events and training for clergy with information on how to better care for our members/care-givers who have been diagnosed with dementia and Alzheimer’s. We are looking forward to beginning this new chapter of ministry with each of you. More information to follow in the weeks and months ahead. Keep watching for how you can become involved. As new events get scheduled, we will add them to our Events page. |
Messy ChurchMessy Church is an inter-generational event, where families, friends, and neighbors come together to share in story time, crafts, games, a family-friendly dinner, and a time of celebration and worship. You’re probably thinking, “Why is it called Messy Church?” It’s called Messy Church because we are acknowledging that we have messy relationships, messy schedules, and messy life circumstances, yet we are all invited to encounter the extravagant love of Christ exactly how we are. We’d love for you to come and experience our welcoming community of faith at Hayshire.

Table TalkTable Talk at Hayshire provides a safe place for everyone to begin to explore, articulate and engage in conversations about the questions of life, both big and small. All adults and older youth are invited to come and participate in casual discussions about topics specific to current events and faith. We gather to talk, laugh, be understood, and enjoy a light dinner together. Our younger group will have their own session with conversations and a craft.

Youth GroupOur Youth Group is geared towards teens in grades 6–12 and focuses on fellowship and mission. We meet every month, and some of our events are open to families as well. Our youth are not only the future of the church, but are fully present as they participate in worship services and mission projects as well as having opportunities to nurture peer relationships and spiritual growth. You will find us having fun in activities including miniature golfing, bowling, movies, lock-ins, mixed-up dinners, and game nights. We invite all youth to join us! You do not need to be a member of our congregation to participate.

Faith TimeOn the second and fourth Sundays of each month, youth of all ages are invited to participate in fun faith lessons with our awesome group leaders after the children’s message during worship. Our older youth (7-16 years old) engage in lessons that offer an eye-opening view of how God's Word is relevant to us today, and our younger children (3-6 years old) focus on early faith and relationship concepts.

Music MinistryOur music ministry serves to bring the scripture to life and to glorify God while providing an opportunity to highlight the talents of members and friends of Hayshire. On Sunday mornings, our choir is accompanied by our Yamaha Clavinova and Remington baby grand piano, which are also used for weddings, funerals, memorial services, concerts, recitals, and other musical events. They are both available for rental for your own events and music lessons.
Special Music Do you play an instrument or love to perform? We are always seeking people to share their talents during our Summer worship services (June through August), our annual Christmas Eve service, and at other special events throughout the year. |
Book ClubThe Hayshire Book Club meets on the second Thursday of each month at 2pm in the church library. The group discusses books ranging from current novels and biographies to inspirational works that are recommended by members of the group. A list of upcoming books are provided three to four months in advance to allow plenty of time to have books read for the discussions. We always have interesting and thought-provoking discussions together, and we are always excited to have new members join us.
